Selling a Home in the Ottawa area

Ontario's 2009 Green Energy Act, Bill 150 introduced on February 22nd, will require a mandatory home energy audit by every home owner selling or leasing their home.

Expected to recieve Royal Assent by late September, this new requirement will help buyer's differentiate between homes based on the overall energy efficiency of individual residences. The audit will also recommend those energy retrofits (windows, furnace, insulation, etc.), which will improve overall energy efficiency and reduce annual energy costs.

If you're considering selling in 2009 but are unsure if an energy audit will help or hinder your sale, please call Brian at 613-794-0846 for a no obligation answer to your questions.

The typical selling cycle for a home ranges from 3½ to 4½ months as per the diagram below.
